Retrograde

I am not usually a follower of astrology, but my best friend in the whole wide world shared with me some years ago the phenomenon of "Mercury in Retrograde". When the stars and planets move in a certain configuration, it can appear that the planet Mercury is moving backwards, much like if you are on a train that is moving swiftly down the tracks alongside a roadway. The cars on the street may be going the same direction as you are, but because they are moving slower, they appear to be travelling backwards.

According to astrologers, when Mercury is in retrograde, communications are more apt to be an issue, seemingly bizarre events occur, and old wounds are re-opened. Mercury has been in retrograde since Friday. Since then, I have met a new friend who apparently grew up in my same home town, although she moved away when I was 7 years old. I was so suprised yesterday when I found out that she is from the same small burg and attended school right behind my childhood home. This church was, to say the least, a very bad neighbor. When we spoke about it I thought "hmm. . . Mercury has been in retrograde since Friday!" but you could've knocked me over with a feather when she asked me my maiden name and then told me she graduated high school with my [pedophile] brother. Talk about old wounds!

My task list for today will include space travel and shoving that darn planet back where it's supposed to be! I haven't checked any astrological websites to see how long this is supposed to last this time around. I think it's usually about a month. I'm a little paranoid about what else may happen in that time!

ugh, I hope it's not a whole month! I can't afford to be in the mental place for a whole month!
