I took dd and her friend to see Kit Kittredge; An American Girl movie last week. We loved it. Here are a few lessons we think the film (and books!) illustrate wonderfully:
1. Families helping others in need, even when they are in need themselves
2. Making character assumptions based on a person's appearance or circumstances is not wise
3. Sometimes people who seem trustworthy outwardly are not always worthy of our trust
4. Kids in the film find ways to help their families and communities
5. Reusing resources is not just good for the environment, it allows families to be self-sufficient.
6. Growing a garden instead of buying is worthwhile
7. Libraries can open new worlds to anyone
8. Reading is the key to self-empowerment
9. Other cultures are worth discovery and understanding
10. Chis McDonald is cute

I've got to take my nieces to see this.
;-) Great TTT.
The summer song on my blog is Jason Mraz, "I'm Yours." It is catchy, isn't it?
Chis McDonald??? What about ChRis O'Donnell?
