Positive Energy

I'm going to start reading some positive things for a while. The fiction was bringing me down. Sure, it was well-written and interesting but not helping with the depression at all. I'll be logging offline in a few minutes and going to bed with Ed Begley Jr. Okay, just a book with him on the cover.

Other things I've been thinking about doing are composting, finding something meaningful to do on Earth Day to symbolize caring about the planet, cleaning up my own family environment, shopping at the farmer's market. So far, I recycle cans, bottles, and newspaper, I drive a hybrid, and I use CF bulbs. I'm sure Ed will give me lots of ideas. I'm also looking forward to Julia Sweeney's upcoming NPR documentary on Earth Day. I have also been debating on whether or not to attend this year's Energy Fair alone with mini-me. Last year was the first time I attended with my hubby and I loved it. I want to go back, but I'm not sure how I can handle it with a 6 year old in tow. Dh won't have vaca until later in the summer. It will also be a good time for me to visit his maternal grandmother who lives within an hour or so from the area. I think mini-Me will get a kick out of it too, but it might be too frustrating for me if I don't get to attend all the workshops I want. I'm kinda spoiled that way.

I'm so proud of you! It can be difficult at first to look at things more positively, but once you do, you'll have a new love for life! Now, to apply that to my own life.
